Mixed Doubles League

Mixed Doubles is a very fun league and a great way to meet people! In the Mixed Doubles League, the NTRP ratings of a male player and a female player are added together to determine the level of play. The levels for mixed doubles are 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0. Different combinations may be used. For example at the 7.0 level, the male and female could both have 3.5 ratings or one may have a 3.0 rating and the other may have a 4.0 rating. The combined NTRP ratings may not exceed the level of competition (over 7.0 in this example). However, the combined NTRP ratings may be less than the competion level (for example a 3.0 and a 3.5 could play at the 7.0 level.) Team competitions consist of 3 doubles matches. The mixed doubles season typically lasts from the beginning of June through mid July.

Nan Smith has volunteered to help folks out. If you want to play mixed doubles (and any other league for that matter) and don't have a team - email Nan at scauburn79@sc.rr.com. She will either put together a team or help you find one.  Contact her early if you want to form a team. Thanks Nan!

Mixed Doubles League Play:

The Adult League has divisions of 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 & 10.0. The combined NTRP ratings of the male and female partner may not exceed the division level. Also the individual ratings may not be more than 1.0 apart. (i.e. Players with individual ratings of 5.0 & 3.0 may not combine to play at the 8.0 level.) The Senior League has divisions of 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 & 9.0.

All players may play on multiple teams at different NTRP levels. Senior players may participate on two teams at the same level if one team is in the senior league and the other team is in the adult league.

A 10-point matchbreaker will be played instead of a full 3rd set.
